Four Stages of Enterprise Telecommunications Management
There are four distinct stages of enterprise telecommunications
management adoption. Like Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, each
stage addresses a defined set of telecom management needs and
desires.
The needs of each stage build upon those of the previous stages.
When the needs and wants associated with any particular stage
are fulfilled, other more sophisticated and often more strategic
needs and desires emerge.

Telecom Expense Management and The Middle Market
In the telecom world, there has been a proliferation of new choices,
plans, suppliers and technologies. During this period, the internet, wireless services and wide area
network technologies have transformed the industry. The internet was born in the 90s and has grown to

Management (WMM) programs have been deployed across enterprise
telecom environments for many years. Early adopter programs
originated on the fixed/wireline side, as this is where an overwhelming
majority of the telecom expense was being incurred and wireless
communications were still in its infancy stage. As business need for
wireless services increased, combined with the complexity of managing
these services, many organizations incorporated wireless services into
their programs.
